David Marshall has been involved in the technology industry for over 19 years, and he's been working with virtualization software since 1999. He was able to become an industry expert in virtualization by becoming a pioneer in that field - one of the few people in the industry allowed to work with Alpha stage server virtualization software from industry leaders: VMware (ESX Server), Connectix and Microsoft (Virtual Server).
Through the years, he has invented, marketed and helped launch a number of successful virtualization software companies and products. David holds a BS degree in Finance, an Information Technology Certification, and a number of vendor certifications from Microsoft, CompTia and others. He's also co-authored two published books: "VMware ESX Essentials in the Virtual Data Center" and "Advanced Server Virtualization: VMware and Microsoft Platforms in the Virtual Data Center" and acted as technical editor for two popular Virtualization "For Dummies" books. With his remaining spare time, David founded and operates one of the oldest independent virtualization news blogs, VMblog.com. And co-founded CloudCow.com, a publication dedicated to Cloud Computing. Starting in 2009 and continuing all the way to 2016, David has been honored with the vExpert distinction by VMware for his virtualization evangelism.
As part of VMblog's live VMworld 2015 coverage coming up next month, we're getting our schedule ready to learn as much as we can, as quickly as we can. And I know show attendees are doing the same. The exhibit area is always packed with interesting vendors showing off their wares -- so how do you know who to visit? Who do you put on your schedule with so many vendors and such little time? Over the years, I've found it important to get a game plan setup and do so early.
This year, VMblog is adding Xangati to its must see list. We had a great conversation with Xangati at Citrix Synergy, so we're looking forward to the follow up conversation. If you haven't already run into them, Xangati is an infrastructure performance management and service assurance analytics provider, supporting complex virtualized data centers and hybrid cloud environments. Organizations have leveraged Xangati to resolve end-user issues more quickly, optimize virtual applications, diagnose root causes of contention storms and assure overall infrastructure health. Xangati's management dashboards provide a live, continuous and interactional view into the entire IT infrastructure with predictive analytics and prescriptive remediation actions.

Get ready for VMblog's live coverage of Citrix Synergy 2015, kicking off May 12, 2015 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Citrix Synergy is one of my "must attend" shows each year, and the event never disappoints. It is jam packed with information and new technologies being talked about and passed along during the keynotes, sessions and the exhibit floor thanks to the show sponsors.

As part of VMblog's live VMworld 2014 coverage coming up in a few days, we're getting our schedule ready to learn as much as we can, as quickly as we can. And I know attendees are doing the same. The event is always jam packed with information coming in from every which way, so it is important to come up with a good game plan to try and follow as best you can throughout the event. Part of our game plan is to get the lay of the land and figure out who will be on the exhibitor show floor. Much like previous years, the sponsor list for VMworld 2014 is long and worthy, making it even more important to know ahead of time the who, where and what.
For the last decade, virtualization users have rallied around VMworld as the defacto virtualization event of the year. And once or twice a year (if you're lucky), virtualization junkies (like me) take the pilgrimage to VMworld US or VMworld Europe in order to surround ourselves in a warm cocoon of virtualization and cloud goodness. And that time of year is once again quickly approaching.

Can you believe it? VMworld 2014, the world's largest virtualization trade show, is quickly approaching its August 24th kick off date. In less than three weeks, many of us will be taking to the streets of San Francisco to join more than 20,000 of our closest friends as we descend upon the Moscone Center in anticipation of learning all there is to know within the world of virtualization and cloud computing.
