VMblog: If you were giving a KubeCon attendee a quick overview of the company, what would you say? How would you describe the company?

Colin Bowern:  Octopus Deploy is a software company specializing in deployment automation and release management. We help developers and DevOps teams automate the deployment of applications, making the process more efficient, reliable, and scalable. We support a wide range of deployment targets, including Kubernetes, and integrate with various build servers and cloud services. Octopus Deploy emphasizes simplifying complex deployment processes, offering a visual interface and reusable deployment patterns, which makes it a valuable tool for teams looking to streamline their CI/CD pipelines.

VMblog: How can attendees of the event find you? What do you have planned at your booth this year? What type of things will attendees be able to do at your booth?

Bowern:  Attendees can find us at booth G26. We plan to showcase our latest deployment automation tools and features, focusing on Kubernetes deployments at scale. At our booth, attendees can participate in live demonstrations, get hands-on experience with our platform, and discuss their deployment challenges with our experts. Plus, we'll have exclusive swag for our visitors. It's an excellent opportunity to learn how our tools can help streamline and secure your software delivery process.

VMblog: What kind of message will an attendee hear from you this year? What will they take back to help sell their management team and decision makers?

Bowern:  This year, attendees will hear about our innovative approach to deployment automation, emphasizing ease of use, security, and scalability with Octopus Deploy. We'll share success stories demonstrating significant improvements in deployment efficiency and security. Attendees will learn how our platform streamlines deployment pipelines, integrates seamlessly with Kubernetes, and the added value of our recent acquisition of Codefresh. This information will help them present a compelling case to their management teams about the strategic benefits of incorporating Octopus Deploy into their software delivery processes.

VMblog: Can you double-click on your company's technologies? And talk about the types of problems you solve for a KubeCon + CloudNativeCon attendee.

Bowern:  Our technology solves complex deployment challenges, including those posed by Kubernetes deployments. We intend to help KubeCon attendees understand how to streamline their deployment processes, ensure consistency across environments, and manage multi-tenant deployments efficiently. Our platform simplifies deploying applications to Kubernetes, integrates seamlessly with existing CI/CD pipelines, and offers advanced rollbacks, security, and scalability features. Attendees grappling with deployment automation or Kubernetes management will find our solutions to address these problems directly, making their operations smoother and more reliable.

VMblog: Where does your company fit within the container, cloud, Kubernetes ecosystem?

Bowern:  Octopus Deploy fits within the container, cloud, and Kubernetes ecosystem as a deployment automation tool that streamlines the delivery of applications into these environments. It simplifies managing deployments across various infrastructures, offering first-class support for Kubernetes, enabling teams to deploy containers efficiently. Octopus helps solve problems related to complex deployment patterns, environment consistency, and the orchestration of multi-component applications, making it a crucial tool for teams adopting cloud-native technologies.

VMblog: The keynote stage will be covering a number of big topics, but what big changes or trends does your company see taking shape this year?

Bowern:  We are continuing to see Kubernetes use grow amongst our customers. We expect the next wave of adoption to be the early majority of the enterprise where the needs shift from enthusiasts willing to overlook the learning curves, shortfalls, glue together tools to IT leaders wanting solutions that just work with the enterprise-grade support they expect. Platform teams need to enable application teams deploy to Kubernetes without requiring them to become experts. Application teams are looking for familiar concepts like environment promotion and aren't interested in learning extraneous concepts. This goes for a number of other common needs like managing database changes, rollbacks, and more. Octopus has years of experience in the heritage and modern application space to bridge this. With the acquisition of Codefresh, we have an opportunity to contribute to the community to accelerate adoption as we're excited to see the use of containers grow.

VMblog: Are you giving away any prizes at your booth or participating in any prize giveaways?

Bowern:  Yes, at our booth at KubeCon, we're excited to give away t-shirts, stickers, and copies of the book "DevEx as a Service" by Matthew Casperson.

VMblog: Is your company sponsoring any type of party or get together during the event that you'd like to notify attendees about?

Bowern:  We are hosting an exclusive boat cruise for our customers and friends of Octopus and Codefresh. It should be a lot of fun! We may still have some space available for this event, so please register by going to: https://octopus.com/lp/octopus-kubecon-24-event or contact John Bristowe for more information: This email address is being protected from spambots.
