CloudBolt integrates with a great myriad of technologies in many different categories, with more integrations being added in every release. However, the defining characteristic of CloudBolt's integrations is not their breadth, but their depth.

For IT administrators, it is not enough for their cloud platform to have surface-level integration; it needs meaningful, substantive support for other technologies so the IT organization can provide a fully-automated self-service experience to their internal (and sometimes external) customers.

One illustrative example is CloudBolt's support for VMware. I will list all the ways in which CloudBolt's suite of offerings, including CloudBolt's cloud management platform (CMP), SovLabs and CloudBolt OneFuse, integrates with VMware. The main takeaways are that CloudBolt has the most complete integration with VMware of any cloud management platform, and without all of these features within the integration, the IT team will be left to handle situations manually. The full benefit of automation is only realized when the integration goes this deep.

The net effect of having this depth of automation for and integration with VMware (and other on-premises virtualization systems) is that IT teams have their private datacenters leveled up with functionality traditionally relegated to the public cloud - self service provisioning, management, and decommissioning of environments by end users without IT's intervention, modeling cost tracking and implementing shameback/showback, policy-based features such as order approval workflows, enforcement of expiration dates for resources, and power scheduling for VMs to ensure systems do not consume resources when they are not needed.

The world's largest combined virtualization and cloud computing event, VMworld, is coming up fast!  This year, for the first time ever, the event is 100% digital as it moves to an online only event, taking place September 29th - October 1st 2020.  The event is always jam packed with incredible information coming out of the keynote presentations and their host of breakout sessions, and we don't expect there to be much of a difference as it moves online.

To find out more ahead of the show, VMblog spoke with VMware to dig in a little deeper as we prepare for VMware's premiere convention.

Did you hear?  VMworld 2019 is moving...  For the last couple of years, the event has taken place in Las Vegas.  But now that the Moscone Center is finished with its renovation work, VMware is moving VMworld back to the city of San Francisco for 2019.

The event takes place August 25th to the 29th, which might seem far off into the future; but honestly, it is right around the corner.  And creeping up on us each and every day.

If you haven't already started your planning efforts, consider yourself behind!  You've missed the early bird registration which ended June 21st.  And you've missed out on some of the closer in hotels (in relation to the Moscone Center) which have already been booked up.  But, don't let those things discourage you.  If you act soon, there's still plenty of time to get registered, scheduled, and be ready to go!

Still not sure if you're going to attend this year or not?  Well, here's 10 reasons why you should go to VMworld 2019.

While at the IGEL #DisruptEUC 2018 event taking place in Austin, TX, VMblog spoke with Shawn Bass, CTO, End-User Computing at VMware. Shawn is a recognized expert in the desktop virtualization industry; and EUC and VDI followers will recognize him from his many presentations at BriForum for many years.

Shawn talks about the IGEL and VMware relationship, as well as VMware's Workspace ONEproduct, a digital workspace platform that simply and securely delivers and manages any app on any device by integrating access control, application management and multi-platform endpoint management.
