VMblog: As a VMworld 2016 sponsor, how can people find Tegile at the show?
Tegile: This year, Tegile will be at booth 2057. We're very excited for this year's conference; we'll have a full team here at the show - including our CEO, technical team and product folks. We designed a unique sized 20X40 booth to host all the activities in the booth. Look for the huge video jumbotron circling over our booth - you won't miss it.
VMblog: What else is unique or interesting about this year's booth setup? And do you have a theme?
Tegile: Our theme is all about using flash storage to rock your workload, so naturally, we have a rock and roll theme going on. Our events team did a fantastic job with the booth - you'll feel like you're ready to rock a sold out arena. To top things off, we'll also be holding a drawing for visitors with some awesome rock star prizes, such as a guitar signed by Angus Young of AC/DC, and even an Audi R8!
VMblog: If an attendee likes what they see and hear at your booth... what message about your product can you send them back with to sell their boss on your technology?
Tegile: With Tegile, you don't need to consider a trade off between performance and economics for your storage infrastructure. We've worked very hard to develop flash technology that doesn't break the bank and we deliver on that unlike any other upstart. Whether that's a hybrid array that intelligently stores your data for maximum efficiency, or a multi-tiered, all flash array that delivers high-capacity density and dual, scale-up architecture to build an entire private cloud, Tegile will deliver on both price and performance for your organization.
VMblog: Can you give VMblog readers a sneak peek as to what you will be showing off at your booth this year?
Tegile: Tegile is committed to helping businesses of all sizes and budgets transition to all-flash data centers, without breaking the bank. We don't want to give away the secret now, but we'll be announcing a new product that touches on that theme; a new technology that is groundbreaking - we think it will give us another leg up against all of our competitors and a leg up to companies.
VMblog: Would you please give readers a few reasons why your product or service is considered unique?
Tegile: There are quite a few aspects that make Tegile unique:
- Tegile is the only storage upstart that offers multi-tier flash arrays. That means customers are able to utilize both high and low density flash to balance workloads. This makes our flash solution much more economical than other AFAs that are out there. We also firmly believe this technology helps us further achieve our vision of the true, all flash data center.
- Tegile is the only storage upstart that will give you a new storage system every five years. Our Lifetime Storage program offers customers an entirely new storage system, including the controller and media, every three to five years. Think of it like you would with a car: instead of just replacing the tires, or even the engine (which other companies do), we're giving you an entirely new car instead.
- Our products are extremely easy to use and well-rounded. We provide native support for iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS and CIFS/SMB 3.0 - a rarity in the industry. On top of that, our secret sauce - IntelliFlash - is extremely simple to use and provides top notch data reduction rates, an intuitive web UI, application integration and cloud monitoring. No more digging into the command line.
VMblog: How does your company and product fit within the VMware ecosystem?
Tegile: Tegile's storage arrays deliver insanely low latency and high iOPS - often 5X the performance of traditional storage arrays, at one third of the cost. For VMware administrators, this is a boon and it opens up limitless possibilities of what a company can do with virtualization.
VMblog: Does your company have any speaking sessions during the show? If so, can you give us the who, what, when and where?
Tegile: Tegile's CMO, Narayan Venkat, will be leading a very interesting breakout session on how converged infrastructure platforms can be an effective tool to stop cyber threats. We partnered with CypherPath and ManTech to design, engineer and build a model of the Department of Defense Defense Cyber Range. It will take place on Wednesday, August 31 at 8 a.m. at session STO9405-SPO and should be very interesting for storage, cybersecurity and general audiences looking to build an agile private cloud for their enterprise.
