Steve Wilson is vice president and product unit manager for Converged Infrastructure at Citrix. He oversees the development of server virtualization, cloud orchestration, lifecycle management and storage technologies and products at Citrix, as well as Citrix contributions to Xen Project and Apache CloudStack.
Wilson is a recognized expert on technologies related to systems management, virtualization and cloud technologies. Before joining Citrix, Wilson was at Oracle where he was vice president of Product Development for Oracle Enterprise Manager. Prior to that role, Wilson was the vice president/general manager for virtualization technologies at Sun Microsystems. He has also served as vice president of Product Management at Cassatt Corporation, an early innovator in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies. Earlier in his career, Wilson served as director of NetBeans technologies at Sun where he led Sun’s open source Java developer tools efforts, and he was an early member of the Java development team where he developed many of the original techniques and technologies for performance analyzing and tuning large-scale Java applications. He is the lead author of “Java Platform Performance: Strategies and Tactics”.
Wilson holds a degree in business administration from the University of San Diego and is a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
