In this exclusive VMblog video interview as part of our KubeCon + CloudNativeCon US 2023 coverage, we speak with Edward Vielmetti, Developer Partner Manager at Equinix.

Watch as we learn more about Equinix and their technology offerings and what they have planned for KubeCon attendees. Hear about the problems they solve, how they are unique, and what big trends and themes they are interested in as we head into 2024.

Equinix has 250 data centers in 71 metros around the world. Historically, Equinix has been in the colo business, but since the launch of Equinix Metal back in 2020 they've been becoming more "cloudy". Think of it as wrapping APIs around our data centers so you can now provision a bare metal server (and more) in 25 of those metros in about 2 minutes!

Through their cloud on-ramps and network peering, they are partnered with all major cloud providers. Further, Kubernetes is a workload that they've seen customers run on Equinix Metal. They have tools (SDKs and IaC) to help you provision metal in a cloud-like approach with hourly and monthly billing.
