VMblog:  If you were giving a KubeCon attendee a quick overview of the company, what would you say?  How would you describe the company?

Nick Heudecker:  Cribl creates products to give observability and security teams choice and control over their logs, events, metrics, and traces. Collect data from any source and redact, filter, enrich, reduce it before sending it on to any destination in the right format. These tools erode vendor lock-in, lower the burden of dealing with agents and data, and free up users to do the most interesting parts of their jobs.

VMblog:  How can attendees of the event find you?  What do you have planned at your booth this year?  What type of things will attendees be able to do at your booth?

Heudecker:  We’re at booth P22 this year, and we’re equipped with two demo stations and everyone’s favorite swag - lightsabers!

VMblog:  What do you attribute to the success and growth of this industry?

Heudecker:  The rapid digitalization of how everyone interacts - with companies and with each other - has accelerated the pace of technology adoption and evolution. The growth of this industry is critical to keep up with the latest changes, react to emerging security threats, and scale a limited talent pool.

VMblog:  What are you personally most interested in seeing or learning at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon?

Heudecker:  I’m most interested in catching up with old friends and seeing what they’ve been up to. After you’ve attended KubeCon a few times, it’s great catching up with people you’ve met in previous years.

VMblog:  Can you double click on your company's technologies?  And talk about the types of problems you solve for a KubeCon + CloudNativeCon attendee.

Heudecker:  Most relevant for KubeCon + CloudNativeCon attendees is Cribl Edge. Cribl Edge is an agent that greatly simplifies collecting data from K8s environments. You don’t need to run a sidecar, and you don’t need to configure the agent. It knows where to look for K8s logs. It also ships with a Prometheus Edge Scraper to send metrics to your preferred destination - or multiple destinations. And Cribl Edge includes the same data management capabilities as Cribl Stream - route, redact, reduce, filter and enrich directly from the agent.

VMblog:  KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is typically a great venue for a company to launch a new product or an update to an existing product.  Will your company be announcing anything new?  If so, can you give us a sneak preview?

Heudecker:  We’re consistently shipping updates, and something that we will showcase at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon are new K8s capabilities for Cribl Edge. Stop by our booth to learn more and get a demo.
