Q&A: Liquidware Labs Showcases User Environment Management and Application Layering at #CitrixSynergy 2016 - Booth 435-S

Written by

As part of VMblog's live Citrix Synergy 2016 coverage coming up later this month, we're getting our schedule ready to learn as much as we can, as quickly as we can.  Citrix Synergy is always packed with great information coming from various breakout sessions, networking sessions, keynotes and more!  But one of the places we always learn a lot is in the Solutions Expo where valuable vendors from the Citrix ecosystem setup shop to display their wares.

But with so many vendors exhibiting at the show, how do you know who to get on your schedule? And which booths to visit?

One of my staples has always been Liquidware Labs.  I make sure to visit with these guys during Citrix Synergy and then follow up with them again at VMworld.  With only a few months in between the two events, they never seem to disappoint me as they always come prepared with something new.  Trust me when I say, they've got some really great technology that can make your Citrix environment that much better.

Founded in 2009, Liquidware Labs is an industry leader and pioneer in desktop virtualization solutions for next-generation physical and virtual desktops, including VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop, Red Hat and Microsoft Windows. The company's innovative and award-winning products include Stratusphere FIT and Stratusphere UX for desktop visibility; ProfileUnity with FlexApp and FlexDisk  for desktop portability; and Flex-IO which supports IOPS acceleration in non-persistent VDI environments.  Learn more about the Liquidware Labs Difference.

The company's executive team is comprised of veteran technologists who lead the discussion on VDI best-practices in the virtualization community.

Are you going to Synergy?  If so, I invite you to get Liquidware Labs on your "must see" list.  Want to learn more?  Check out this interview to learn about what they have planned for the upcoming Citrix Synergy 2016 event.

VMblog:  Your company is sponsoring Citrix Synergy 2016.  How can we find you at the show?

Liquidware Labs:  We are going even bigger this year and are a Silver sponsor. You can find us at Booth 435-S.

VMblog:  Is there anything interesting or unique about this year's booth setup?

Liquidware Labs:  Absolutely, our booth has a new look, it's the first time we've used it for Synergy. We'll be demonstrating the latest and greatest versions of our solutions.  We will be previewing new features in the upcoming release of Stratusphere UX planned for June, which will include deeper level metrics to troubleshoot Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp environments, a great new Search function for helpdesk scenarios, as well as even more granular GPU metrics.  Your readers should know that Stratusphere UX is the No.1 user environment monitoring and diagnostics solution for Citrix environments and we are very excited to expand our feature set for Citrix environments.

You'll also see ProfileUnity and FlexApp - User Environment Management and Application Layering.  Both of these products represent the logical extension of the Citrix FlexCast models and smooth roaming ideology, so these are a "must see" if you are looking for a big upgrade from Citrix UPM and/or update your application delivery methodology.

VMblog:   Anything else going on at the show that we should know about?

Liquidware Labs:  Lots actually.  Liquidware Labs is a sponsor of the Citrix User Group Community and all of their doings at the show and, as such, we will be attending the Pre-Game party on Monday, May 23rd.  We are also sponsors of the M7 party on Wednesday, May 25th.   We hope to see everyone at these events as well as at our booth.

VMblog:   Do you have any sessions or any sessions you'd recommend?

Liquidware Labs:  Yes, two actually. We recommend attending these sessions where application delivery strategies and superior desktop management will be discussed:

SYN108: WHAT'S NEW - XENAPP & XENDESKTOP, TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2:00PM - 2:45PM
DESKTOP & APP DELIVERY
Sridhar Mullapudi, director of product management at Citrix Systems and Craig Hinchliffe, sr. product manager, Citrix

SYN212: SEEING IS BELIEVING: A SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON OF CITRIX XENDESKTOP AND VMWARE HORIZON, WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 1:30PM - 3:00PM
DESKTOP & APP DELIVERY
Vishal Ganeriwala, sr. director, technical marketing, Citrix

VMblog:  What do you like most about sponsoring Citrix Synergy?

Liquidware Labs:  First of all our relationship with the Citrix organization is very solid and getting better every day, and it is clear there is much mutual regard for each other. Our solutions are highly complementary to the Citrix desktops and workspaces. Today, like never before, you have the real possibility of delivering desktops that are more secure and manageable, even while provisioning them much more easily and with much greater flexibility.  Citrix is the platform that started it all, and they continue to push that agenda hard.  Our offerings speed that process and offer advanced functionality that is a value add to joint customers. It is very good synergy between us.

As part of that relationship, we not only are a Citrix Ready partner, we are also a founding sponsor of the CUGC and we will continue to support opportunities for CUCC members to get together, learn, network and have some fun!!

VMblog:  Can you give VMblog readers a sneak peek as to what you will be showing off at your booth this year?

Liquidware Labs:  We have had a lot of interest in FlexApp, our application layering solution that has a high level of application compatibility. We think 2016 is shaping up as the year of application layering.  This solution can make Citrix environments less complex by automating the process of creating master images, and reducing the overall number that need to be managed. Customers that may be interested in Citrix AppDisk will love the advanced features and additional compatibility that they get with FlexApp.

We also are hosting a joint webinar on May 11, with Craig Hinchliffe of Citrix, where we spell out how Stratusphere UX provides above the OS visibility complementing AppDNA, and when you add optimized management and just-in-time delivery with FlexApp to this approach, you can greatly automate the process of building and updating your master images.  It's NOT too late to register for this webinar, the link isHERE.  Even if you can't make the live webinar, it's good to register so that you can go back and view the recording if you like.

In the next few weeks, we will also be launching a new "Cloud Login Analysis" offering for anyone who has trouble with long login times and cannot figure out what's causing the problems.  We'll be demonstrating this tool at our booth at Synergy.  It is a fantastic way to experience the diagnostic power of Stratusphere UX and the way it can uncover those hidden root causes of issues that crop up in a virtualized end-user computing environment.

VMblog:  Attendees always enjoy a good trade show tchotchke.  Are you guys giving away anything special or interesting this year?

Liquidware Labs:  We're having a bit of fun with the fact that it is an election year in the United States. Our theme is "Make Desktops Great Again," and we will be handing out shirts, buttons and stickers, so make a point to get to our booth early because last year we ran out by the second day!!

VMblog:  I know this isn't your first Synergy event as a sponsor.  Tell us, how many times have you sponsored before?

Liquidware Labs has been at every Citrix Synergy since our founding in 2009.

VMblog:  Wow, that's a long time!  What do you hope to come away with from exhibiting at Synergy this year?

Liquidware Labs:  We love solving real-world desktop delivery challenges for customers that we meet every year. We also look forward to strengthening relationships with existing partners and forging relationships with new partners.  Re-connecting with friends and colleagues while talking innovation is always time well spent.  We look forward to this event with great excitement every year.

##

The Liquidware Labs team never disappoints.  They have an amazing crew at these shows, and they do a great job with demos of their technologies at their booth.  So make sure to get them on your schedule and visit them at booth 435-S.  From what it sounds like with their giveaways, things are going to be HUUUUGE at Liquidware Labs.
