Q&A: Zenoss Showcases the Intelligent Data Center and ZenPacks

Written by

As part of VMblog's live VMworld 2015 coverage coming up at the end of this month, we're getting our schedule ready to learn as much as we can, as quickly as we can. But with so many vendors exhibiting at the show, how do you know who to get on your schedule and which booths to visit?

I was glad to hear that Zenoss, a company in my backyard of Austin, will again be showcasing their wares at VMworld. These guys are really fun and interesting! And they've got some really great technology in this space. Back in May of this year, I had a really good deep dive into their products since I attended the company's first ever Zenoss GalaxZ User Conference. One of the big takeaways from this user conference was how much Zenoss values its customers. And I was also exposed to the company's "Own IT" mantra.

Zenoss technology delivers a quick and precise insight into potentially affected services so you can fix the problem before your business and users are impacted. You’ll know what events are putting your critical services at risk, and you’ll have the right context and information to act faster to resolve the prioritized problems before your services are impacted. They also help you stay ahead of the curve by uncovering trends and patterns to help you optimize your IT resources and plan capacity more effectively, a critical capability required to keep your services running. And, you’ll be able to quickly scale horizontally and vertically to handle your hybrid IT environment.

Get Zenoss on your schedule, and make sure to ask them about their ZenPacks! Find out more ahead of the show by reading the below Q&A interview with the company:

VMblog: Glad to hear that Zenoss is sponsoring VMworld 2015 -- how can folks find you on the expo floor?
Zenoss: Zenoss is thrilled to be a bronze sponsor and we invite everyone to visit our 10X10 booth, #2525.

VMblog: Will definitely be visiting you guys. Anything interesting or unique about your booth?
Zenoss: We are proud of our tenure and our large customer base that is the ‘Who's Who of IT'. Their success speaks volumes so our messaging is simple -- OwnIT.

VMblog: After visiting your booth, what's the takeaway message for attendees?
Zenoss: With over 35,000 customers, Zenoss is a trusted partner of leading organizations in every industry that are flawlessly managing IT infrastructure at scale.

VMblog: Why should an attendee put you on their MUST SEE list this year?
Zenoss: No matter what VMware tools you use, Zenoss is the only company that can integrate it all together and power your Intelligent Data CenterTM. And if that's not enough to motivate you, maybe some of the cool swag we're giving away will.

VMblog: What do you like most about sponsoring VMworld? Why is this a must sponsor event for your company?

Zenoss: VMworld is a crucial annual event for us to get in front of the top technology players in Silicon Valley and the world. Our biggest partners, including VMware, Cisco, Lenovo and many more continue to integrate our capabilities into their latest offerings and this is a fantastic live showcase.

VMblog: Can you give VMblog readers a sneak peek as to what you will be showing off at your booth this year? What should attendees expect to see and hear at your booth?

Zenoss: We'll be demoing our flagship product - Zenoss 5 - as well as our VMware NSX ZenPacks. The buzz continues to be around these pre-built plugins, we call ZenPacks, and the utopia of IT infrastructures, the Intelligent Data Center.

VMblog: Explain to readers what makes Zenoss unique.

Zenoss: Zenoss powers intelligent data centers with patented, agentless, and hyper-scalable IT monitoring technology. We were also named by Forbes as one of the Top 20 Cloud Companies and CEOs to Work for in 2015.

VMblog: Most VMworld attendees enjoy a good trade show tchotchke. Are you guys giving away anything special or interesting this year?

Zenoss: Zenoss is well known for its Zenny, the zebra mascot. We always give away squishy zebras by the bucket loads. They are beloved by many children and adults around the globe. Why go changing the perfect giveaway! Don't go home without one!

VMblog: Does your company have any speaking sessions during the show? If so, can you give us the who, what, when and where?

Zenoss: Our evangelist and alliance strategist who has over 20 years experience with IT management software, Kent Erickson, will be speaking in Lenovo's booth #1537 [Wednesday Sep 2 / 11:30am]

VMblog: Are you guys throwing any type of party during the week of the event? Can you share the details?

Zenoss: We'll be participating in the VMworld World of Solutions Hall Crawl as one of 25 exhibitors offering select food and beverages to attendees on Tuesday night. We are also hosting a private VIP party for our clients during the VMworld Party at AT&T Park. Come by our booth to find out more.

VMblog: What are you guys looking forward to most at VMworld this year?

Zenoss: Raising awareness around the Intelligent Data Center is a key goal for us. It takes a village and VMworld is the center of the universe for these 4 days!

VMblog: How many times have you sponsored VMworld? And what keeps you coming back for more?

Zenoss: We've attended VMworld and sponsored for the past 5 years and the Zenoss team will be there in force again this year. With so many of our current and prospective customers and partners together in one place, it's a must sponsor event for us.
