Are you attending the upcoming VeeamON 2022 event in Las Vegas?  The show is coming up quickly, taking place May 16 - 19, 2022, both virtually and yes, physically, at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Ahead of the show, VMblog spoke with Andrey Tuzov, Director of Business Development at StarWind, a leading provider of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions for Enterprise ROBO, SMB & Edge.

Read this exclusive pre-show interview between VMblog and StarWind to learn what they have planned for the upcoming VeeamON 2022 event.

VMblog:  How excited are you that VeeamON is back as a physical event this year?

Andrey Tuzov:  It's always great to get a chance to see your colleagues and users face to face and we've been denied that for far too long. Finally, we're at a point where we can all get together and discuss the latest trends in the industry, new product releases and just catch up after such a long break.

VMblog:  Why should a VeeamON attendee add you to their MUST SEE list?

Tuzov:  We are going to be presenting a lot of our new products, including the NVMe-based Backup Appliance, that completely changes the way we think about RTO and RPO. We're also going to be making some announcements around the future of HCI and some revolutionary products we will be introducing shortly.

VMblog:  Can you give VMblog readers a sneak peek as to what you will be showing off at your booth?

Tuzov:  We'll be talking about the leaps we've taken in unlocking the true potential of modern storage infrastructures with NVMe over Fabric and the practical application of it in building ultra-dense, high-performance systems, with literally no drawbacks. But I don't want to spoil too much, you're going to have to talk to our team at the booth to get all the details.

VMblog:  Talking about your product solutions, can you give readers a few examples of how your offerings are unique?  What are your differentiators?

Tuzov:  While StarWind has always been an SME-focused vendor, we've always managed to provide that Enterprise feature set, while still having that SME -friendly cost. Top that off with one of the best support offerings in the industry and a true white-glove approach and you have what makes StarWind so great.

VMblog:  How does your company work with Veeam?  And how does your product fit within the Veeam ecosystem?

Tuzov:  We've been closely partnering with Veeam for many years. Back in the day, when we were just doing software-defined storage software, Veeam used to be our go-to recommendation as the backup solution of choice. Nowadays, we're using Veeam in combination with our NVMe backup appliance to unlock the true power of backup storage.

VMblog:  What do you think we need to do collectively as an ecosystem to strengthen the industry?

Tuzov:  I believe the way forward for the industry is continuing down the path of further cyber-resilience, as well as creating a seamless experience of utilizing both private and public cloud. While the first is crucial due to the ever-evolving enemy that is ransomware, the second one is more about finally realizing that private and public cloud both have their merits and it's all about creating a smooth user experience while using both.

VMblog:  We expect to hear about big industry topics during the keynotes, but what does your company see taking shape in the coming landscape?  What would your keynote topic include?

Tuzov:  I would definitely love to hear more about Enterprise Data Protection and that's the topic I would pick for a keynote.

VMblog:  What is it about VeeamON that makes you want to sponsor?

Tuzov:  Veeam had built an amazing ecosystem around itself with great partners, users that are bound together by more than just love for the product. This makes us want to sponsor, just to get together and have the opportunity to share all the amazing insights we've gained over the past 2 years of not being able to attend physical events.

VMblog:  We've been forced to attend virtual/online events for the past 2+ years.  Attendees are ready to once again throw some amazing tchotchke into their swag bags.  Are you giving away anything special at this event?

Tuzov:  We will be giving out all the usual bling at our booth during VeeamON, but we also have an XBOX ready to find a lucky new owner!
