VMblog:  Congratulations on your appointment as Tehama's Chief Development Officer.  Before we dive into your new role, tell us what brought you to Tehama?

Nabeel Youakim:  I'm really excited to be joining Tehama as their Chief Development Officer. I've known the company for some time, and when I was looking for my next opportunity, Tehama was a natural fit for the background and experience I have from my previous roles with Citrix, Microsoft and as a consultant in the end user computing (EUC) space. 

I find what Tehama is doing with next-generation Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions to be very innovative and there is a tremendous amount of growth potential for both Tehama and their enterprise-ready DaaS solutions. With networking and security on top of DaaS, enterprises benefit from a unique plug-and-play DaaS solution that provides end-users with secure access to their applications and desktops within an hour. The speed at which organizations can add users is phenomenal.

VMblog:  What will your role as Tehama's Chief Development Officer entail?

Youakim:  In my new role as Tehama's Chief Development Officer, I will be working with their team to develop go-to-market strategies, drive revenue growth and implement business transformation initiatives. I'm very much looking forward to also leveraging my experience in product development, as well as the alliances Tehama has established across the EUC space, to help the company position itself for next-level growth and success. 

VMblog:  What are some of your goals and objectives you have set as part of this new role? How do you hope to leverage your experience in the EUC space to achieve those goals and objectives?

Youakim:  There is much room for growth in the DaaS market, especially with many businesses continuing to support their employees in working remotely in the post-pandemic era. Some of my goals and objectives at Tehama's Chief Development Officer will be to further expand the product roadmap to align with the multi-cloud strategies being embraced by many enterprises today. I am also looking forward to leveraging the relationships I have across the industry to further expand the partnerships and alliances Tehama has in the EUC space.

VMblog:  In your view, what sets Tehama apart most as a provider of enterprise-ready virtual desktops? 

Youakim:  Tehama is the only company that offers a complete solution. Their competitors have some of the components needed to support remote work, but they have to team with other providers to offer a complete solution. Tehama's pure-play DaaS offering brings today's enterprises everything they need to securely and efficiently enable a remote workforce.

VMblog:  What are some of the key challenges Tehama is currently solving for?

Youakim:  Tehama's comprehensive DaaS solution solves a number of key challenges for today's enterprises. This includes:

• Seamlessly enabling hybrid and remote work scenarios for enterprises with geographically dispersed workforces;
• Supporting enterprises in providing contractors and third-party service providers with secure access to corporate assets and resources;
• Replaces unsecured VPN connectivity with a secure solution built for a distributed workforce;
• Eliminates the need to ship corporate hardware including desktops or laptops to remote workers; and,
• Ensuring business continuity and promotes agility for global workforces.
  

VMblog:  What should partners and customers know about working with Tehama?

Youakim:  The most important thing that our partners and customers should know about Tehama is that we enable businesses to transform and sustain their remote workforces for long-term success without compromising productivity through the delivery of secure, collaborative virtual desktops. 

VMblog:  Where do you see the EUC space going in the coming year? How will work-from-anywhere continue to impact the industry? Are there any other emerging trends we should be keeping our eye on?

Youakim:  I've spent many years in the EUC space and it has been interesting to see it grow and evolve with so many different players contributing to what has now become a thriving ecosystem. DaaS and VDI are the future of work in terms of promoting secure end-user productivity and collaboration and the pandemic accelerated this. 18 months ago, we found ourselves in a position where companies had an immediate need to support remote work. In the fog of those initial days of the pandemic, it was all about connecting workers to their desktops via any means possible so they could get work done. As the fog lifted, so to speak, the business requirements evolved alongside the heightened need to properly secure remote workforces. During that time, end user experience has become critical and as we move into the work-from-anywhere (WFx) era, it will be about ensuring that the technology is in place to ensure productivity while also promoting profitability.
