DISRUPT 2023: Recap of the Exciting Announcements IGEL Made at this Year's Event

Written by

This week, Nashville played host to the annual DISRUPT23 conference, a gathering of IT professionals, industry experts, and vendors, all eager to learn more about the latest developments in endpoint management and security. As usual, the event did not disappoint - offering a number of exciting announcements and updates that promise to change the way we think about endpoint management.

Following the success of the event in Munich, the Nashville event continued that growth trend with more than 800 end user computing enthusiasts making the trip, along with more than 40 technology sponsors participating by showing off their wares. Attendees were treated to a host of presentations and lively discussions from EUC experts, as well as a series of technical bootcamps presented by IGEL and many of its partners, for expert-led education and certification programs.

The theme of the event this year was a single word, with a lot of meaning, "YES". IGEL said "We know that great things come when we say YES, when we push beyond the limit of thinking and adopt technology that outpaces rapid change." This year, IGEL and the EUC community is saying YES. YES to the single most important EUC event of the year - bringing together the leading disruptors of the EUC universe. YES to knowledge sharing, new ideas, saving money, smarter security and so much more. And YES to delivering a digital workspace that's secure, easy to manage, and cost-effective.

Attendees were introduced to the latest release of IGEL OS 12, the new version of the company's flagship operating system. IGEL OS 12 is built on the latest Linux kernel, and offers enhanced security and performance features that make it an ideal choice for organizations looking to secure and manage their endpoints. The new OS also includes improved support for virtualization technologies, such as Citrix and VMware, and features a simplified user interface that makes it easy for even non-technical users to manage their endpoints.

Another major announcement at DISRUPT23 was the release of IGEL COSMOS Enterprise Management Suite, a cloud-based management platform that offers comprehensive endpoint management capabilities. With IGEL COSMOS, IT administrators can easily manage and secure their endpoints from a central location, providing remote support and troubleshooting, device monitoring, and the ability to deploy software and updates across a large number of endpoints. The platform also includes powerful analytics and reporting capabilities, which can help organizations optimize their endpoint infrastructure and improve user productivity.

In addition to these major announcements, IGEL also issued a number of updates to its existing products and solutions, including enhancements to its Universal Desktop Converter (UDC) and IGEL Workspace Edition software. The company also highlighted its growing ecosystem of partners and integrations across both hardware and software, which is important because IGEL reiterated the fact that they have moved on from creating and selling their own hardware, and instead, remain focused on the software side of things.

With its exit from hardware, IGEL's partnerships with the leading hardware manufactures, HP, Lenovo, and LG, becomes even more important. Each of these vendors is offering many of their devices pre-installed with IGEL OS. IGEL OS is a powerful operating system designed to work seamlessly with Windows 365 Cloud PC. It is a lightweight and secure platform that provides a simplified endpoint management solution for IT teams. With IGEL OS, users can access their virtual desktops and applications quickly and efficiently, regardless of their location.

While on stage, IGEL showed off the ease of IGEL OS for Windows 365 Cloud PC. It combines the power and security of the cloud with the familiar versatility and simplicity of a PC. IGEL OS Cloud PC edition allows users to register over the air and download a Cloud PC profile, which enables instant boot into Cloud PC, for a seamless experience to Windows 365 but with all the security, management, and control benefits of IGEL OS. It's an extremely simple process, demonstrated on stage. An employee connects to WiFi and connects to IGEL Cloud Gateway, a profile is downloaded and autoconfigured for Cloud PC, and wallah, the employee has instant access to Cloud PC.

IGEL may be a leading provider of endpoint management software, with a focus on helping businesses achieve efficiency and security, but they also help with environmental sustainability. The company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and supporting sustainability initiatives around the world. One way IGEL is doing this is by partnering with Plant-for-the-Planet, a global movement that aims to combat climate change and promote reforestation. At the event, IGEL announced that in lieu of giving out trade show swag, it would instead spend that money on helping this initiative by chasing a goal of planting 20,000 trees.

IGEL has implemented a number of sustainability initiatives to reduce its impact on the environment. For example, the company has reduced its energy consumption by using energy-efficient technologies and has implemented a waste reduction program to minimize its waste. In addition, IGEL encourages its employees to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives, such as using public transportation, reducing paper waste, and recycling.

Overall, DISRUPT23 was an exciting and informative event, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of endpoint management and security. With its latest releases and updates, IGEL has demonstrated its commitment to providing innovative solutions that make endpoint management easier, more secure, and more efficient.

We can't wait to see what they have in store for us next year.
