VMworld 2020 goes digital.  Will you be in attendance?  One of the vendors you would have seen had VMworld 2020 been live is Liquidware.

With the current pandemic, we're seeing a lot of changes taking place in our normal, everyday lives -- both professionally and personally.  One of those changes is the end of physical trade show events as we move to socially distance ourselves from one another.  While some trade shows simply cancelled or postponed until 2021, others have made the switch to a 100% digital format.  VMworld, the world's largest virtualization and cloud computing event hosted every year by VMware, is one of those shows -- enter for the first time ever, VMworld 2020 Digital

While a physical VMworld event would normally have north of 150+ sponsors, a digital VMworld event won't be able to effectively support that number of sponsors.

One of the companies you would have been able to visit in person at VMworld 2020 would have been Liquidware, a leader in adaptive workspace management solutions for Windows desktops.  The company’s products encompass all facets of management to ensure the ultimate user experience across all workspaces – physical, virtual, DaaS or in the cloud.

Are you gearing up for VMworld 2020 digital?  Read this exclusive pre-show interview with Jason E. Smith, VP Products and Solutions at Liquidware.

As a company that enables organizations to facilitate a work from home strategy, Liquidware is a champion of remote working. As an industry expert in the end user computing and desktop virtualization field, Jason Smith provides answers to a number of important questions in this modern #WorkFromHome situation that many companies woke up one day to find themselves in without a lot of planning or preparation in most cases.

Published in Work From Home 2020

About a third of Americans are now working from home, more ever than before.  And quite simply, that's due in large part because of COVID-19 and the pandemic that was unleashed across the globe this year.  VDI, Desktop-as-a-Service, Virtual Desktops, and Cloud Desktops are the technologies that enable many of us to work from home.  But these technologies have been around for quite some time.  So why are more and more companies finally taking note of these and other technologies that enable many workers to do their jobs remotely?

In this latest VMblog #WorkFromHome Series, we're exploring what technology means in this current paradigm shift of working remotely.  And in order to do that, we're reaching out to industry experts to help shine a light on the subject.  We're asking these experts to offer up their opinions and advice on what's taking place now and where things go in the future.

In this Q&A, VMblog connected with long time industry expert, Jason E. Smith, VP of Products and Solutions at Liquidware.

VMblog speaks with Jason Smith of Liquidware during the IGEL DISRUPT 2020 event in Nashville, TN.

Jason Smith talks about the path that Liquidware has taken to help its customers onboard their next generation desktop. That has evolved from VDI to cloud based desktops and native Windows Virtual Desktops (WVD). They help with assessment, move user profiles or user personas over, and deliver applications with a zero downtime migration.

Jason also talks about how Liquidware partners and works with IGEL. Liquidware's agent is now fully integrated into the IGEL firmware, which allows them to see the last mile of the end point.

Liquidware - vmworld 2019

VMblog visits the Liquidware booth during VMworld 2019 in San Francisco, CA.

Liquidware showed off a preview of some innovative features in both FlexApp and ProfileUnity that focus on Microsoft's new MSIX application format. With Stratusphere UX you'll see advanced agents for thin and edge OS solutions like IGEL, Stratodesk, and 10ZiG. These "last mile" agents give helpdesk and admins the data views they need to capture and diagnose complete User Experience metrics.

I just returned from Microsoft Inspire which was held in Las Vegas again this year. Microsoft Inspire is the namesake's annual partner conference, previously known as the Worldwide Partner Conference that has occurred every year since 2002. Microsoft Inspire has become a harbinger of news that will logically be accentuated at Microsoft Ignite, the company's end-user conference and event that follows in Orlando in November this year.
