VMworld 2012 Spouse Activities Ready to Go!

Written by

As hard as it may be to believe, yes, VMworld 2012 is right around the corner.  I hope San Francisco is ready for us!  If you are attending the event and bringing your spouse, you need to know about Crystal Lowe's Spousetivities.  This function does a really great service of providing attendee spouses with something to do while we are geeking it out learning about our favorite IT topics, virtualization and the cloud.

So what's on tap this year?  As usual, Crystal has been busy planning ahead for this year's VMworld event.  Here are some of the events planned for this year's Spousetivities:

  • A city walking tour on Monday that will hit the highlights: Pier 39, Coit Tower, and Ghirardelli Square, among others.

  • Crystal has struck an exclusive arrangement for a very special trip to Sonoma (check out the details here) on Monday, if the city walking tour isn’t your thing.

  • On Tuesday participants can choose from a tour of Sausalito and Muir Woods (very cool if you’ve never been there) or a “food tour” of the Ferry Building.

  • Wednesday is the Half Moon Bay/Filoli tour

  • Thursday has another city tour—this time by bus with a local tour guide — or an extremely cool trip to Napa, with a special pizza-wine pairing activity.

There will also be plenty of giveaways, including an iPad, iPods, a computer, e-Readers like the Kindle, and more.  Thanks to Scott Lowe for the information!

More information on all the activities, including pricing, is available from the VMworld 2012 Spousetivities registration page.  I invite you to check it out.  This is a great idea that continuously gets executed extremely well.

Through the years, he has invented, marketed and helped launch a number of successful virtualization software companies and products. David holds a BS degree in Finance, an Information Technology Certification, and a number of vendor certifications from Microsoft, CompTia and others. He's also co-authored two published books: "VMware ESX Essentials in the Virtual Data Center" and "Advanced Server Virtualization: VMware and Microsoft Platforms in the Virtual Data Center" and acted as technical editor for two popular Virtualization "For Dummies" books. With his remaining spare time, David founded and operates one of the oldest independent virtualization news blogs, VMblog.com. And co-founded CloudCow.com, a publication dedicated to Cloud Computing. Starting in 2009 and continuing all the way to 2016, David has been honored with the vExpert distinction by VMware for his virtualization evangelism.
