Parallels names BackupAgent as Technology Partner of the Year

Written by

BackupAgent, the leading provider of cloud backup software for service providers, has been awarded as Parallels Technology Partner of the Year. Parallels CEO Birger Steen announced BackupAgent as winner of the prestigious award at the Parallels Fourth Annual Partner Awards, held on the Parallels Summit that takes place on February 4-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Parallels Technology Partner of the Year award recognizes BackupAgent as a company that has demonstrated leadership in the adoption of the Application Packaging Standard (APS) and has driven success for Parallels service provider partners.

BackupAgent and Parallels, the hosting and cloud services enablement leader, have built up a close cooperation from 2009, when BackupAgent was one of the first ISVs that developed an APS package. The integration of BackupAgent’s Cloud Backup Platform with Parallels Automation products has enabled a multi-million dollar revenue growth for both companies’ mutual customers in the past 4 years. This award symbolizes the excellent cooperation between the two companies.

“According to Parallels SMB Cloud Insights research, available on Parallels.com, over 50% of SMBs plan to use online backup by 2016”, said John Zanni, VP Marketing and Alliances for Parallels. “BackupAgent’s experience in building APS packages that optimize the integration for Parallels Service Providers will allow these Service Providers to accelerate their time to revenue in this fast growing segment of the market.”

The Award for Technology Partner of the Year was handed to BackupAgent Founders Roland Sars and Robbert van Geldrop. Sars was thrilled: “I am honored to receive the Award for Parallels Technology Partner of the Year. It is a recognition and appreciation for the strong partnership that we have developed with Parallels over the years. We look forward to continue the partnership in the years to come.”
