CitrixSynergy 2019 Q&A: Parallels Will Showcase Cloud-Ready Parallels RAS and Comprehensive VDI at Booth 601

Written by

Are you attending Citrix Synergy 2019 in Atlanta?  If so, I invite you to add Parallels to your MUST SEE list of vendors.

With so many vendors exhibiting at Citrix Synergy this year, how do you know which booths to visit and who to get on your busy schedule?  VMblog had the opportunity to speak with Parallels at the DISRUPTEUC 2019 event, and we are looking forward to visiting them again at Citrix Synergy.

Parallels Remote Application Delivery is a cost-effective application delivery and VDI solution, that allows your employees to access and use applications, desktops and data from any device.  And Parallels RAS is easy to deploy, configure, and maintain.

Read this exclusive pre-show interview between VMblog and Parallels to learn what the company will be showcasing at the upcoming Synergy 2019 event.

VMblog:  As a Citrix Synergy 2019 sponsor, give us the rundown of your booth setup this year and let attendees know how they can find you at the show.

Parallels:  You can find us at booth #601. We're eager to show you how Parallels RAS improves the user experience while significantly reducing cost. We're also inviting anyone who's interested to an evening of relaxation on May 22, 2019, between 6-8 p.m. We'll be serving handcrafted fusion cocktails and delicious food at SkyLounge at the Glenn. It's a sophisticated rooftop with a lovely view in downtown Atlanta, just a 10-minute walk from the Citrix Synergy venue.

VMblog:  Why should a Citrix Synergy attendee add Parallels to their must-see list?

Parallels:  Parallels RAS has always been about delivering a great user experience while bringing down the total cost of ownership (TCO) of a virtual application and desktop infrastructure-and we've never stopped pushing the envelope. What attendees will see this year is a much improved, cloud-ready version of Parallels RAS. It not only further simplifies usability for both administrators and end users while driving down costs, but it also boosts your organization's ability to meet current demands of virtual workspaces.

VMblog:  How can Parallels RAS leverage the existing investment of a Citrix infrastructure?

Parallels:  Parallels RAS can integrate with existing Citrix components such as Citrix Hypervisor, Citrix ADC, Citrix Gateway, and Citrix Endpoint Management. It can work seamlessly with Citrix ADC to improve the virtual application and desktop performance on your network. The Parallels Client can be pushed to Citrix Endpoint Management users to streamline the onboarding process of employees.

VMblog:  Why should organizations consider Parallels RAS?

Parallels:  Parallels RAS is a comprehensive application delivery and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution that enables employees to access applications and desktops from any device or platform. It is straightforward to deploy and maintain and offers extreme technology agility. It supports on-premise, hybrid, and public cloud deployments, Microsoft RDSH, Citrix Hypervisor, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix Acropolis (AHV), Scale Computing HC3, and KVM.

VMblog:  What benefits does Parallels RAS offer users?

Parallels:  Parallels RAS provides users with a brilliant mobile experience, enabling them to be just as productive as they would on a traditional computer. Parallels technology allows the use of iOS and Android native gestures-such as swipe, drag, tap to click, and zoom in-on published applications and desktops. Instant multitasking, out-of-the-box printing on any device, and customizable key shortcuts for quick access to complex commands are part of the extensive features that Parallels RAS offers to dramatically improve the user experience.

VMblog:  Finally, we heard that Parallels RAS 17 will be released in June.  What do you think are the most important changes in the upcoming version?

Parallels:  I won't go much into the details, but I can say that we have worked hard in version 17 to improve the VDI performance and provide even better support for MSPs, ISVs, and everyone in the channel.
